So I have Asus G551JW and it has 8gb RAM. I do lots of things at the same time with this, play music, talk with someone in curse or skype, surf on internet  and usually I photoshop, edit video or play games. And yes, sometimes i run out of RAM.

I did some reshearch adn found out that this Asus has one free RAM slot. So why the heck not to upgrade it to 16gb? Only problem here is that I don't know what ram i shoul get. I dont even know do I have to buy 2 RAM sticks or can I just get one and be fine. So this is the part where help for the noob would be nice.

Corsair Vengeance is pretty solid just like Kingston Hyper X. If you only have two ram slots I would buy two from the same manufacturer.

AMD FX8350 Black OC 4.5ghz--NZXT Kraken X31--ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0--MSI R9 380 4G--Corsair RM750--Corsair 16GB Vengeance

Logitech G300--Roccat ISKU FX--Logitech Z623--HyperX Cloud II

if that's a laptop you need to make sure to get laptop RAM. just get another single 8GB stick

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Try to get another 8gb ram stick that matched the voltage, speed, and timings of the one that's already installed so that you have lower chances of running into compatibility issues. Don't worry about brands too much, those specs are more important and all RAM is made by like 1-2 OEMs, with other brands just slapping their sticker on them.

Main Rig: CPU i7-4790k / MOBO Asus Z97-Pro (Wifi-AC) / RAM 16GB HyperX Fury 1866 MHz / CPU COOLER Dark Rock 3 / GPU Asus GTX 1070 Strix  / CASE Evolv ATX Tempered Glass / SSD Crucial MX200 250GB / HDD  WD Black 1TB + WD Blue 3TB / PSU EVGA 750G2 / DISPLAYS 2x Dell U2414h / KEYBOARD Corsair K70 RGB Cherry MX Brown / MOUSE Logitech G602

Laptop: Dell XPS 15 / i7-6700HQ, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, GTX 960m, 1080P Display

just get another 8gb ram stick and you'll be good to go. Just keep one thing in mind, you should get a same ram stick as the previous one (by same ram stick I mean same freq and same capacity) otherwise you won't be getting the best performance...
