K denotes an unlocked multiplier which allows overclocking beyond stock frequencies. Non K is locked, so not overclockable.

The "K" one can be OCed, the other can't. Is this for a new build?

no the k means its overclock able using the multiplayer so a k cpu you need a Z chip set like z97 z170

The 4690 nonK also includes iGPU

Anyway @sothhabola If you pick a non-K CPU, you'd consider the i5 4460 as it might be cheaper

Oh. In that case, grab an i5 6400 + z170 mobo + 8gb DDR4. It'll have pretty much the same cost, but more performance.
