Is buying a open box motherboard a good idea or is it just a waste of time and money ? And thanks for your time ! Btw its a open box item from a reputable seller ( NCIX )

If they are honoring their standard return policy, I see no reason why not.

Make sure you verify the condition of the CPU pins before you pay for it.

Check it out first, I'm sure the store you're buying it from wouldn't sell something that does't work or have everything. If it is already open there is no harm in taking a peek at everything.
