It won't benefit much since the 980 was made for maxing 1080p and 1440p medium/high 

 

No way. Maxing out 1440p in like 90%+ of games, and then high if you want a locked 60fps if 45 fps isn't good enough.

Not medium, and only high for a tiny percentage of games.

By saying it was made for medium/high would mean most games only play good at that.
