So I have the GTX 980 SC and it peaks at like 70C under like 60% load. Good or bad?

Your airflow is not that good then

hard to tell if its not 100% (or closer to) load temps

that is a reference cooler right?

yeah, if you are staying at 70c under full load that is great and you could probably reduce your fan speeds a little. However Some full load temps will be different than other full load temps so good to keep an eye on it. Or just set a curve that really ramps up rpms around 80 to be safe

Don't look at the laod alone. The power draw measured in % of the TDP is more important when it comes to thermals.

HWmonitor can read it for example.
