What the thread title says.  It'd be nice if it could also rip encrypted DVD's.  Thanks in advance. :)

ew DvD quality, 

just pirate form online instead of pirating from a disc.

either way breakin the law.

There are some advanced options for VLC, you may be able to stream it to a file, at which point it is saved. 
I have not done this for video however.  (just audio.)

I was under the impression it was only pirating if I possess copyrighted material that I do no own a license for.

 

But bypassing the encryption is illegal, yes. :D  But its only a stupid law they lobbied for because they were never able to overturn fair use.
