GTX 650 NEED HELP

I have an EVGA Geforce GTX 650 (1GB) and i tried using msi afterburner to go up 30 mghz and i really didnt feel comfortable overclocking so i lowered it and I thought I was good.......Until my screen saver came up going at about 13FPS. I dont know what is going on and a screen sver shouldn't be doing this. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks. It seems my problem wasn't a problem after all because it only did it when I was converting a 37GB MKV to an M4V with handbrake. I completely forgot to include that and it's my fault, sorry. I didn't think that it was enough to weigh down a 3570k and 16GB of memory to the point where a screensaver couldn't run. Again sorry and thanks!
