Graphics card joke

YT2002

Just reading someone's comment on facebook about them having a GTX 970. Someone else responded, "Great card, I rate 3.5/4

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

What is funny?

The GTX 970 has 3.5GB of full speed memory and .5 GB of much slower almost unusable memory. So it's 3.5GB/4GB. 3.5/4.

Just depends. I don't see it as that big of an issue but I prefer the 390 simply because I have a soft spot for AMD and it's a faster card.

Like I said it depends on the situation. Some games can handle it better than others, but I say it's still better to have way more than enough VRAM in the first place.

Actually, if you were correct, most if not all AMD cards have been getting performance increases not only because of the improved drivers, but also because of the dank new tech that AMD is giving us, plus there is still a lot of room to improve. My 290 actually performs the same or better than a 970, and the Fury X can now, stock clocks to stock clocks, compete with or surpass a GTX 980 Ti. Of course there were some minor issues, which AMD is working to solve, but don't act like Nvidia has no problems whatsoever.

I don't want to get into any more arguments over AMD vs. Nvidia, I like both but prefer AMD and I'll leave it at that.

When u run a 980ti out of the box gpu boot 2.0 takes all of the 980tis way past 1000mhz

So there's no point in comparing that

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz-

also (1600)

asus rog crosshairs vi hero x370-

MSI 980ti G6 1506mhz slix2 -

h110 pull - acer xb270hu 1440p -

 corsair 750D - corsair 16gb 2933

The PowerTune software overclocks the Fury X as well. I'm saying the Fury X competes with or surpasses a 980 Ti with no manual overclocking. I understand GPUBoost takes the card to higher clocks but the Fury X will still compete with it. It's not until you manually add more overclock to the card that it takes the lead.

I mean the reference card GPU Boost situation. Reference to reference like I said, not aftermarket like your MSI card. And it should easily beat the reference the higher the resolution gets.
