yep. Thought I'd get a Xeon instead of an i5. i5 4690ks don't seem to be great value to me, so I bought a Xeon instead.

Nah they're not now. they went up over the year to launch  + £20.

 

I sold mine for what I paid for it and got a 6 core 12 thread xeon for £20 less than that...

 

was your pentium a good overclocker?

My Pentium was pretty nice, which is why I'm keeping it. Stable at 4.6GHz at 1.27V. Was tempted to try 4.65GHz but I never got round to it.

He had an i5 which he killed to get a better chip through intel RMA 

 

and he's using my old pentium. I sold him my a8 as well which is valid for 5+ghz extreme-oc so that should be fun at a lan event we're attending in feb.

I do want that pentium though :P

 

my luck with them is pretty bad.. 4.2 1.35v on one...
