What game? Console or PC? Which Console? Which OS? What model router? Current settings? You gave exactly 0 useful information in your first post.

I'm playing Black Ops on the PS3 and I'm not sure what model of router but I'll go check. Which settings do you need?

What details are needed?

How is your home network configured? I need to know what is connected to what, pretty much describe how you network is setup. This is pretty straight forward as to why we need these details because this is typically the sole reason why these problems are occurring.

All that's connected are 4 smartphones and my PS3.

Ok, I'm sorry if I sound harsh here, but you don't seem to be understanding what I'm saying. I need to know HOW your home network is CONFIGURED. How is the router connected to the modem? Is it an all-in-one? Do you have more than 1 router? These are details describing HOW your network is CONFIGURED. Please not only provide details like the ones I listed above, but provide other ones that are relevant.

I have an all in one that has UPnP but my PS3 says it isn't available. Sorry if I'm not listing anything needed, I just know the basics.

Ok, let me just clarify. You have a router/modem all-in-one device that is the ONLY device in the house that provides the internet, correct? You don't have any other devices such as routers, access points, etc. that help or provide internet?

That is it, nothing else.

Ok, great. The next step we can do is to put your PS3 into a DMZ. To do this, follow the instruction in this link. The list here will vary a little bit because you'll have different hardware than the guide, but this these instructions will work regardless. You may have to do a little searching around for the options the guide is asking you to do once you get into your router only because the hardware is different. If you're familiar, I skipped over port forwarding because using DMZ will open every port, instead of selecting a few ports that you could manually open.

I attempted using DMZ but I can try it again with instructions from this link when I get home.
