I have a bootable USB? stick for windows 10 to put onto my ssd

Do I need to delete my os on my hardrive or should I unplug it and set my ssd to the bootdrive and leave my old windows 10 on my harddrive?

Take off all documents and photos off the hard drive. Wipe the hard drive.

Install Windows on the SSD, redirect photo, document, video, and music libraries to folders on the hard drive for mass storage.

Its mostly your choice. But if it were me I'd wipe the HDD, unplug and install windows on the ssd. (then plug the hdd back in after)

Thanks for your advice! My next question is, How do I move all my pictures, games, music, mods for games, games saves etc away from my HD, and how do I wipe my hd?

Go to your C: Drive, then Users, then [YourUserName] (Replace that with your username). File path is C:\Users\YourUserName.

Copy all of the folders you want (You probably want to get the Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Music, Pictures, and Videos. Make sure to grab any other folders you need, like Minecraft worlds, steam games, etc.

Once you have your stuff backed up, Install Your OS on and boot from the SSD. With your data backed up, Go to your computer and right click on the Hard drive. Click on format. Format your hard drive, it will be wiped.

no offence, but if you don't know how to move files in Windows I would suggest you get someone to help you before doing a drive format and a Windows install, you might lose files you don't want to.

OR ... If you feel confident enough I would suggest going through a "how-to" tutorial on Youtube...

no problems, I just wouldn't want you to lose anything because you erased the wrong drive by accident (this happened to me even though I work in the field, overconfidence is a bitch!)

Merry Christmas to you also! And good luck on your install!
