Mirrors Edge and GPU issues

Im playing mirrors edge (i bought it on the steam sale) and i just got to the part where Pope (hees a guy i don't know much about.) In the SWAT chase my game decides it no longer likes my GPU. It wont use my full GPU power. (It has activity LED's on it and they light up all the way before the event but they are only on like half way during the event, so the frame rate becomes almost unplayable. How do i fix this? Thanks

Mirror's Edge sucks for both my friend and I on AMD. With any physics based event (i.e. glass breaking) framerate tanks.
