games that stress gpu properly?

What are some gpu intensive games I could use to test my overclock? I know that Skyrim is kinda OC sensitve, but are there any others?

far cry 4 always makes my oc crash that is stable in other games

so does max payne 3 odly

Something like the Witcher 3 would definitely stress a GPU out. But why not use something like Furmark?

furmark doesnt let the gpu reach max clock so bad idea for testing oc.. its only useful for max heat and power draw

AFAIK with things like OCCT or Furmark you get way too much of a stress that does not represent real world situations in game, so I guess games are the best way to test OC stability

You can't repeat situations in games so the results you get won't mean jack. That's why you're supposed to use benchmarking softwares. Lower the settings if you don't want to go full monty. 1600x900 resolution for example.

But then how it happens that in benchmark softwares you get stable oc's and when you run specific games they just crash or artifact etc.?

Yeah. Engines and APIs work differently. One can cause trouble where some other fares fine. It's by no means useless to test games too but you should only do it after you're done fine-tuning the OC. Games can always have bugs in them so that's a thing too. It's just that the most common benchmarks have had years to file out the rough edges. I guess if you used a popular game from a few years back you could somewhat trust it to be bug-free too. I personally run Furmark for OpenGL and Heaver for DirectX and 3DMark (the one released in 2013) for real-world scenarios.

Oh, now I get it (y) thanks for the insight :D

Crysis 3 is still a very good Game to squeeze the last Drop out of a GPU.
