Need help picking a power supply.

Please help me pick a power supply for my new build. I'm using a GS700 right now that is driving me crazy.

 

If you have any other suggestions that I have not included in my Poll please post them.

Why is the GS700 driving you crazy? I am thinking of purchasing one for my upcoming build. What is the problem with the GS700? Is it just not enough for you or is it too loud?

it performs nicely, but I get coil whine on my GPU and with my friend's AX860 installed the coil whine is gone. Plus the fan only turns on at a specific temperature threshold, and makes this "WAHHHH WAHHHH WAHHH" noise when it isn't sure if it should continue to spin, or stop. The fan is silent otherwise, under stress testing it is completely inaudible, but while gaming it switches between on and off quite often causing the noise.

The only reason you would need 760 is if you are going SLI

Do you think it would be an issue if I use it with a 8320 overclocked and 9950? Also, can't you use some kind of software and make it work better? I mean only turn on fan when above 70C lets say. Or sth like that.

I'd say none of them. They're all totally overkill for your current build

I am planning on putting my 560ti back in as a dedicated PhysX processor. Why you might ask? because I can. I only see about 2-3 frames average more, but in hawken and warframe i see up to 80% usage and around 700 megs memory usage so I'm definitely getting some boost in intense PhysX processing.

I don't believe it would have enough amps to run both of those cards, but I didn't do any research to know for sure.

the on and off point are almost the same temperature. it's more like 35C and above it is on, and 34C and below it is off. so it sits there bouncing back and forth between 35C and 34C turning on and off creating it's own version of dubstep

I wouldn't call them overkill really even if I weren't planning on putting a dedicated PhysX card in. If I never draw over 75% of my PSU's capable output, I did a good job in picking out my powersupply.

I would RMA it, but I had to RMA the first one for blown capacitors, and I'm not about to go through that again. Plus I am looking for something modular.

Modular, not semi-modular, but thank you for your input.

 

Plus the SS-760XP2 I ordered on the first day of the poll just came in this afternoon. I can't wait to install it in my system! just waiting for the work day to finish right now...
