Is Skylake worth it?

I was wondering if I should go for the i3 6100 skylake cpu which, would require a ram upgrade. Or go with a non K i5 4690?

There is a huge difference b/w Skylake i3 and Haswell i5.

 

So go with Haswell i5.

 

If you can tell your budget, I'll try to build a nice PC.

Why don't you check out i5 6500?

 

You can OC that CPU with AsRock Z170 motherboard.

Im upgarding to a new CPU+Motherboard and my budget is $450 Canadian

 

Update: Oh and if a DDR4 ram upgrade is needed, include that.

Also i was going to go with the i3 skylake because it is clocked at 3.7GHz. vs the i5 6400 at 2.7Ghz. and it cheaper, $180 vs $260.
