7850 can't OC memory?

When I try to overclock my GPU using either Afterburner or CCC (whatever the current equivalent is) I can raise the clock from 800 to 1050 (the end of the slider) but if I increase the memory by even 1MHz on certain games (namely Hitman: Absolution and Witcher 2) my GPU will make loud noises (it's not from fans) and after 15 minutes of gaming start to lag. However, according to Fraps my FPS is the same (40-60) but it looks like 5!

Any solutions?

Sound is called coil whine (linus talked about this i think)

Low fps might be thermal throttling make an aggressive fan profile in afterburner

A tip from 7850 user max out the power limit bar so ur gpu can suck all the power it needs without restriction
