Creating A New Partition

Go to solution Solved by airdeano,

winX can be installed on either partition platform.

you can use this guide for your install. although setup for win7, win 10 has the

same install functions and operations: http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds/0_30

I tried to do a clean install of windows 10 because I was bluescreening, and now I am getting the error "windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GBT disks." I booted with the one without the UEFI prefix behind it, and now I do not know how to fix it, if I boot with the [uEFI]FAT-(drive name) one it still gives me an error, and I currently cannot burn a disk of Gparted as suggested here, and it does not work on a flash drive.

Gparted: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/windows-cannot-be-installed-on-this-disk-the/8fa72a3e-10c5-47da-a040-1e0db62af309?auth=1

I am not trying to format the drive using my other PC through windows explorer, I do not know if it will work though.

should work out really well, been using that guide (pretty much memorized) since

it was created. good luck!

Great! thanks, one more thing, my windows copy is an OEM copy of windows 8.1 which I upgraded to windows 10, should I reinstall 8.1 and do the upgrade again to prevent a possible non activated copy of windows or is there no need?

nope, unnecessary. if you "upgrade" to winx, install winx, and do a clean install,

the activation is already done (will self activate). if you decide that winx is not

your OS, then you can reinstall win8.1 with no issues using the original key.
