Is the GTX 980ti lightening worth it for a gamer

Sank

So I was building myself a pc and I can't afford 4k monitors and just for gaming titan x was out of the question! So I though of getting the next best thing the GTX 980ti, now I am not a very big overclocker, but when given the option I like to! So should I get the MSI GTX 980ti lightning or any other gfx at or below the price of the lightning!

the lightning series is really meant for overclocking, so if your not doing it, its probably not worth it.

If you're not going to overclock, no. It's not worth it.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

I´d go with an EVGA GTX980Ti ACX2.0 SC. Rock solid card and EVGA has the best customer service and warranty terms out there. And it is cheaper by a good notch than the MSI. As mentioned before the Lightning is more for OCers.

I have seen videos where they overclocking it to abt 8.1ghz I won't overclocking it as much!

And even if I run it on stock settings wouldn't it be faster and give better results then others for the price it is available at!

As others have said get the EVGA SC, great card with great support. Linus has a video showing that overclocking focused cards are a waste of money if you don't overclock. I'd give you a link but on my phone.

The FTW is right now the cheapest and also one of the fastest from EVGA.

I would love to overclock it, but what I am worried about is, how long at a stretch could I use the card, if I overclocked it!

You could go for the amp!extreme. They are both about the same out of the Box and its a bit less expensive.

Amp! is nice but no competition to EVGA´s superior customer service. I choose EVGA over every other brand or make when it comes to nVidia any time of the day.

How many RMA´s you had  with Zotac Products? Zero? I thought so.

I wonder how often EVGA GPU´s die because everyone praise their RMA Policy.

Its a Fairytale, nothing more.

And i choose the GPU because of its Power and not because of possible good Customer Service. Why you have an Asus Card again? ;)

It´s not a fairytale first of all. And defective GPUs more DOA happen to everybody once in a while. Of course if you buy every 5 years a card then probably not. My perspective and many others is a different one, whether you like that or not who cares?

And a Classified is a superior GPU especially for OCers, go try to find an AMP! in the top world results... won´t happen. And don´t try to tell my why Zotac is so superior, I never stated they´re crap.

And just so you know I don´t buy Zotac, due to a lack of compatible EKWB fullcover blocks.

EDIT: EVGA is the only company for nVidia that maintain warranty when you removed their heatsink and watercooled it. But since you´re just butt hurt about your beloved Zotac cards, this kind of stuff doesn´t cross your mind.

Thank You for all your inputs, bu i have finally decided to get the lightning as first of all i found it for about 699 and second of all it because it looks so damn good! But the only thing  troubling me is the INTERNATIONAL service msi provides

EDIT:

Come to think of it, it is made with, military grade material so the chance of anything bad happening to it is low!
