XFX Radeon R9 380 4GB

Smacks the 960 in almost every game.

That may be true, but in my office, our computers from Dell all come with AMD GPUs and they give us enought issues on a daily basis with not working right with driver/display issues, which is enough to swear me away from the Red Team forever. Sorry AMD.

No, it's because prebuilt = shitty GPU (most, if not all the time).

The prebuilt ones usually come with an R7 250 and I have seen a couple HD 7570s, so definitely not top of the line, but definitely what you would expect from a prebuilt computer that will be doing nothing but Word or Powerpoint forever, and they can't even handle that sometimes. We have had driver issues with several of AMD drivers that just cause the display signal to stop working on some computers, whereas others just drop their drivers altogether and fall back to the CPU graphics until we go download drivers again.

We have never had anything similar happen with a computer that got an Nvidia GPU or didn't have a dedicated GPU at all, like basic laptops.

Get a 380 of 290.

-snip-

I could just be that the model with the AMD GPU is more crappy than usual, it is a Dell after all. I wouldn't totally overlook a company just because a bunch of prebuilts with with a borderline trash GPU stopped working properly.
