Ok, quick question. I have now backed up my PC in it's entirety. It only took somewhere between 36 and 42 hours ( I was asleep when it finished lol. ) My computer had an OEM install of Windows 7. Can I do a fresh install with a disc copy, and still restore my files from the OEM using Windows Backup and Restore?

Did you make recovery media for your PC when you first set it up? OEM systems like HP, Acer, Lenovo, etc. they have their own programs to create complete factory images for reinstall. If you don't, you can simply download a Windows 7 ISO directly from Microsoft here. Enter your Product key, create the install media, boot from it and do the install process. Make sure your select Custom Install when in the Installation and format your original Windows installation drive in the installer.
