So for the last few years I have been pirating games left, right and centre because I couldn't afford them.

Well I still cant, but I am so sick to death of the viruses and random crap that comes with these games that I have decided to start again.

And when I mean start again I mean, Everything, I want to wipe everything bit of data off my drives and start again.

not too fussed about losing media, as I have lost most of it over the recent years to a virus or two anyway (or its in the cloud)

I've decided I'll just buy real cheap older games from like, Kinguin and G2A etc.

Better old a stable than new and buggy as fuck. (also the karma of not stealing any-more).

So I was just wondering what would be the best way to go about this?

bare in mind I have a dog shit internet connection so re-downloading will take for ever, but in know some bits will just have to be done.

cheers.

p.s, even got myself a legit copy of Windows

#GOme ;)

Grab your Windows licence key + Windows ISO. Do a install deleting your current drive partitions when at the installers disk window.

Or you know, you could actually read what he's posting. But that would be the right thing to do, now would it.

Well all i can say is you asked for it.

As others mentioned mate, format everything, fresh install of Windows, stick to the good side of PC Gaming, also keep up on the forums, people give away game keys.

Yeah I suppose I did.

One thing I'm wondering about is my rockstar license for GTAV, I don't have it in Steam etc, anyone know where the key might be etc?

First you want to get rid of the data on the drive by writing random crap data to the hard drive. Delete the files via shift + delete on the keyboard. Then add new random data and any trace of the old data will be gone. Grab an Ubuntu ISO and Windows ISO. Make a live usb from the Ubuntu ISO and make a windows boot DVD. Now boot from the live usb and format the drive within Ubuntu using Startup Disk Creator. Insert your Windows DVD and shutdown the system. Boot the system again and when you see the BIOS screen press delete or F12 or whatever your motherboard says to press to enter the BIOS. Now change the boot order so that the computer tries booting from the DVD instead of anything else and then exit. The system will automatically reboot and boot into the Windows DVD. Now just follow the installation instructions and you'll be good to go.

Don't get me wrong, I know how to torrent safely, it is laziness that mainly led to the crap,

Saying that many of them are Trojans.
