Dac help needed

I'm looking for a dac to pair with my schiit lyr2 and he-500. Budget of £200, and have no problem with used items.

Schiit Modi 2. Pair it with Wyrd if you feel like spending another $100 on what's basically an external linear power supply for the Modi.

 

Don't bother trying to spend more/maxing out your budget. DACs sound more similar than different and you already have the amp and headphone bases covered.

I don't know, I've never heard the 500.

 

The general consensus seems to be that the 560 is more technically capable, but some people still like the 500 sound better.

HE-560 sounds a bit more smoothed compared to HE-500. I feel like HE-560 is better around the midrange but HE-500 is better if you like a more sparkly treble.

 

As for the dac. Modi 2 Uber is probably one of the best you could get right now, optical USB and coax input in one dac. It's literally "the only DAC you ever need"
