Finding the case for me.

I was going to buy the Streamcom FC10 Alpha which you can get for around $330 but i wont be able to cool the components down within the threshold i like with air cooling options.

 

The problem is that in this case the only water cooling solution is to do a custom external loop. Which kills the idea of small powerhouse that i had for this build.

 

I currently use my daily driver in a F.D. Node 304, that i consider far too large.

 

The components that i will be cooling are:

Either a 4670k @ 4.20ghz, 6700k @ 4.20ghz, or a 5930k @ 4.20 ghz. (all clocks are reasonable and the 4.20ghz is for immersiveness)

A 980ti

A Mini Itx Board

 

The problem is that in the fc10 i cant fit a rad in that case(after mods) because the gpu will be in the way, blocking airflow.

 

What i want out of the case/build:

Near silence

High performance w/o the footprint

No fires

Most importantly: Aesthetics.

 

I have done a decently large search of cases that fit my needs and the only manufacturer that got close was silver stone, though all of the itx cases are too tall.

 

 

Do you guys(the community) know of any cases that fit my needs or any companies that can custom make one that is of solid quality?

The PC 06s is just way too large. thing is as big as some mid towers. Though it does match my setup and is pleasing to the eye. If all else fails ill take it.

+1 on the M1 if you can afford it. It won't be silent but since all major components are exposed directly to intakes/exhausts you should be able to tone down the fan profiles for near silent computing.

Its basically the same as my node 304 at this point. Im willing to pay up to 500 for a custom case. 350 for a non custom one.

Looking for something that can lay flat and would resemble the build quality of the old mac pros (those things are solid af, id build a house with them).

lol. I posted that cuz I wanted to a do a bit more thinking. The thing is you want a small, flat, slim style case which inherently does not promote good airflow. I'm not even sure even with a custom design that you'll be able to water cool unless the case is especially wide to the point of ridiculousness.

My desk is 3 layers.

Top: 2 Small satellite speakers, 2 monitors(moving to a 21:9)

Mid: Subwoofer, new build, 61 key midi keyboard

Keyboard tray: self explained

Foot: Houses my node 304. Very out of place.

The only difference is the space between the top and mid layer is 6.8" not 5.3"(modded).

 

The PC 06s might be my main choice. It meets my needs, just on a slightly tight squeeze.

For the record, i love corsair and phanteks cases, im just moving towards a smaller case. Every break(college student) i bring my computer so being small is important, plus i have no place for a large computer.

The PC 06s is the limit depth wise. Width wise i have a few inches. It will be 1 inch from a midi keyboard that spans the entire width of my desk. Height can increase as long as depth decreases.

 

Id prefer is be 6.5" tall, 10" deep, and 15 at max wide. Which is a weird af set of dimensions, almost like a cabinet.

 

If not then the PC06s size is the way to go.

yea, a reason why going custom is a possible choice. I can play with air flow.\

 

The node 202 hit the us market finally, but id have to go back to the idea of a stock 4670k 6700k or 5930k.

Gpu wise i wouldnt need to water cool because like my 304, the gpu is breathing fresh air.\

 

It looks almost too simple that it could break my idea of aesthetics.

For rad wise i was thinking either 1 240/280 or 2 120/240.
