You need yourself an unlocked processor! ;) Everything looks nice together though. Nice job, bud.

Which unlocked processor should I get then?

Do I need to change anything else to overclock? Do I need a z87 motherboard?

What z87 should I get then?

any linus did a video showing that the cheapest z87 and most expensive z87 could overclock pretty much the same so just get what you can afford and what you like the look of, also get a board if it has specific features you want

how does this look?

  • replaced i5-4670 with i5-4670k
  • replaced Asus H87-PRO with ASRock z87 Extreme3
  • replaced GTX 770 2G with Radeon HD 7970 3G
  • ^^^^^Is that a good idea?^^^^^
  • replaced Storm Stryker with Define R4 Window
  • replaced Corsair HX750 with XFX ProSeries 750w

Are those changes good? Should I keep the GTX 770?

Will I have problems? Will I need to do anything different or tricky or unexpected? I've read many guides, but I don't want to find out that my motherboard actually needs to be dunked in cat litter before it works.

Looks solid. Nothing to change but I personally wouldn't get the high profile ram for easier heatsink headroom. i also just like low profile ram.

stick with the 7970--pretty much the same performance as the 770, more vram, and cheaper.

Save your money and get a better gpu when you need one. No need to spend more when there's nothing important left to improve. You CAN improve the parts but at this point but you wouldn't get a good value out of your money by paying more.

There's no reason to--you'd probably never use it.
