Good Free DVD Burning Software?

I need to burn dvd's and right now I'm using "E.M. Free MKV Video2DVD". It does everything I want, except it requires mkv files and if you don't use mkv it puts a watermark in. Also it takes an absurd amount of time to convert to mpg so it can burn. It can take 1 hour + to convert. The machine that the conversion happens on is a core 2 quad q6600, so it shouldn't take that long. I would convert it on my core i7 but my core i7 machine doesn't have a dvd drive (only have IDE dvd drive). 

 

What software would you guys recommend for dvd burning. Do not say windows dvd maker, that is utter useless crap.

I personally Use nero 12. u can download it and use it for a while as a trail version and pay for it. it's cheap i paid for it or just ehm ehm <Cr@ck it> ehm ehm

Have you tried ImgBurn? That's what I've always used when burning DVDs.

I am not sure if it can make playable DVD files from for example mp4 files though.

By the way, MKV is just a container so if it took you over an hour per file then you're transcoding them, which is completely unnecessary in order to make an MKV. You can use a program like mkvToolNix to create MKV files without having to transcode (which will also result in higher quality).

Make MKV, Handbrake, Freemake. All of which i have used in the past and work just fine.
