5. Why are you upgrading?

Laptop is outdated & unable to play games.

 

Requirements/notes:

-Energy efficient & silent as possible (Prefer Nvidia graphics card)

-My room is completely carpet & gets very hot during the summers. The case will most likely be on the floor.

-Will be using WiFi as i'm unable to get an Ethernet cable connected to my room

-Will not be overclocking

1. Budget & Locatio

Well don't put your PC on the floor, if anything at least do an ITX rig so you can keep it on your desk or on a shelf

 

Otherwise not too much reason to go with nvidia, maxwell's DX12/Vulkan support is in question, and a free-sync display will cost a good deal less than a G-sync one

 

also this build includes a 21:9 IPS free-sync display, if you play a lot of fps games there's also a 1080p 144hz display at the same price

and look for a fan pack like this, preferably one with MOLEX adapters of some kind

Recommend you to make extra stand from something like cardboard because your PSU might be suffocate. I remember I watched a video and saw a guy made cardboard stand (His situation is pretty much like yours). No SSD but you'll get some awesome performance in it
