GPU troubleshooting

Go to solution Solved by ChrisCross,

well most gpu's include a molex to 8/5pin pcie adapter. this helps to spread the power. this doesnt happen if you use a pcie splitter and thats why i wouldnt use it.

i dont know what you mean with peripheral port but i would use the included one

Hy guys, so i have a problem here: I have an NXZT HALE 82 v2 550w PSU and just bought an GTX 970 HOF GPU now the problem is..i have one 8 pin port on my PSU and two on the GPU. My options would be : the adapters that came with the GPU (i heared they are crap and not to use them) or a splitter. My question would be..can i use an 8 pin peripheral port for my second 8pin pci-e cable?

well the PSU has: the 24 pin slot the 8 pin CPU slot one 8 pin PCI-e slot and three 8 pin slots marked peripherals and they are 8 pin slots and use 8 pin to molex cables, probably the pci-e config on the 8 pin will not corespond i haven`t checked but on the respect that those adapters use molex to 8 pin and the molex cables come from those peripheral 8 pin slots from the PSU its basicly the same conection.
