The Rocket Computer (Functional Rocket AND Computer)

Phyronite

So a few friends and I theorized that we could build this computer:(http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3m7gvK) into a rocket, which can fly and can be a functional computer on the ground. Ik that the psu's fan might die, so we would probably remove it for flight.

Edit: The rocket would be experiencing 25-30g of force.

Edit 2: Current build log for NASA

Why would you want your computer to fly?

Wishing leads to ambition and ambition leads to motivation and motivation leads to me building an illegal rocket ship in my backyard.

Why would you want your computer to fly?

The question is not why, the question is why not.

Different PSU pls. Do you want your PSU to be the rocket?

In that build, a CX PSU is perfectly sufficient.

As said above no we would probably remove the psu prior to flight (or in flight).

Will your computer rocket go to 40,000 feet at mach 1.89?

Yeah, but with an i3 it creates a great upgrade platform for a gaming build. Plus, he said he'd be using it as a normal computer on the ground :P And as for the rocket, have the motherboard as close to a flat surface as possible aka: Shortest standoffs and the card almost being pulled out of the PCIe slot.

Will your computer rocket go to 13,000 feet at mach 1.86?

Nah, I suggested we make a flying PC "drone" and overclock it a tad, then call it the world's highest overclock ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

no no no

overclock a laptop

take it on a plane

mile high overclock

Or we can create a computer that goes over a mile and goes almost twice the speed of sound...

The motherboard will be screwed, epoxied, bolted, and strapped to a custom holding plate.  A similar thing will be done with the graphics card using a pci-e riser and an HDMI extension cable.

Will it be a only one time use rocket?

No this rocket would be able to fly multiple times.
