What are your experiences? Are the bending rumors true? Should I consider getting the 6700k?

I have and love the 6700k.... Yes the bending rumors are true, but with proper installation of the cooler, you will be fine. Also try not to move your system to much.

get the 6700k. its amazing and well worth it!

If only need single threaded (or up to 4 threads) performance, the 6600k is the same as the 6700k, but much cheaper. If you do take advantage of more threads, then the 5820k is a better choice. There's no place for the 6700k in the world. Not with the current price tag.........

Aside for that, doing fine with my Skylake box. Crunches stuff like a boss.

IDK. The 5820k looks nice too.

Yeah the 5820K is nice too. Runs at 140W though. compared to 91W. That is up to you. the 5820k is a better processor than the 6700k in terms of cores but the 6700k has 4.0GHz clock compared to 3.3GHz.

OC will be a little easier on a 6700k as well.

THX. @Imakuni they are called cores :P

I guess its a good choice then.

I hate its small, puny look tho.

Threads, logical lines of code that cpus process.

The i5 has 4 cores, and can compute 4 threads. The i7 has 4 cores, but can compute 8 threads.

No he was right saying threads.

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB
