Today I got up and my pc saying it was getting a Windows update. I am just frustrated that it did not ask me to update the pc first/give it permission to update. Also what all changed in this update?

Same. Got it when restarting to fix wifi. Then boom, update out of nowhere. It took about 5 mins to update, restart and install. that quite pissed me off that it changed the default apps.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Because when u go to your Update & Security settings u see there are only 2 options: let windows decide when to update your OS automatically (usually around 3:0 am) or u set the time and day within a week :/

This is BS, as i posted elsewhere the update changed my default programs and it removed my Avast endpoint and decided i needed to use windows defender.

I also lost all the programs i had open as it doesn't give you the option to postpone updates.

That is not a december update, that is TH2 update (Service Pack 1 of Windows 10) released in early November. You just don't update your Windows. It highlights the need for Microsoft to push forced updates. As it is a full OS upgrade, defaults resets. Expect the same thing with Redstone end of next year, if Microsoft doesn't change things.

Redstone is the next large update. People speculate it will be Windows 10.1. It is estimated to be released between summer time (a year from Windows 10 release date) to end of the year (probably in Oct/Nov).
