i don't get high. what's the sense of such a small and sometimes non existent boost over last gen>

Sure as hell better then what AMD has put out in the past 3 years.

sure as hell wanted to get something out there for people to buy before AMD started wooping their asses in the coming year. this isn't meant to be fanboy talk. i believe AMD will have cornered a greater share of the performance market in the next 10 months.

Exactly, but we dont talk about that. Can only hate on AMD, since the intel fanboys run rampant around these parts...

The problem with AMD is that there has been no changes at all. Its the same shit that they made like 5 years ago, at least with intel there is small performance increase as well as a higher efficiency. I would love if this was still like the K8 days where the company could actually compete and innovate but sadly there time has come and gone for AMD.

the 1151 release brought many new things... mainly ddr4 to mainstream but other stuff too. 1151 wasnt a bad release it is just priced too high.

Skylake pricing being so poor is mostly due to Intel not getting terribly good results out of the 14nm process, leaving low stock in stores, allowing retailers to gouge the FUCK out of it.

Until a chip is released we don't know the performance numbers.

They literally released the IPC improvement over their previous architectures, a little bit of simple math and current architecture IPC performance makes fining the answer pretty damn easy.

I'm giving them to much anyway, it probably wont even beat Ivy bridge, after all this is the company that said the Fury X was going to outperform the Titan X by over 10%.

Yea the 6700K MSRP is 350$ which is fairly reasonable, except that american retailers are charging double that instead of just back ordering it to customers like every other place in the world.

I never trust what a company says until they have an actual product to back it up. They can say 40% IPC improvement or whatever, but things can change from that claim to the time it gets released.

Also I'm pretty sure AMD never made that claim, and that it came from the usual user generated hype or WTFTech.

No AMD said it, then every tech news site reported on it.

Amd even if they wanted to they wouldn't be able to change the microarchitecture from the time they said that to the current scheduled release date.

Well... $700-ish (If you look closely, they say its on sale from $999 to $700-ish)

Not entirely since this place on the other side of the world, southeast of China, its not double the price kind of inflated

That said... the price has been going nuts on the 6700K.

AMD VS Nvidia = A lost mail man that will do whatever it takes to give you your mail... despite being a few days late... and never realizing that the house that the mail is for was pretty much the first house he started from VS A well dressed, well groomed, well cleaned, and cologned-up donger that just wiggles itself and is the type of guy that makes after-parties a nightmare. Basically its: An idiot that tries VS a jerk that ruins every after-party. Pick your poison.
