I have a MoCA network setup in the house for our tivo roamio plus and 4 minis. the minis sometimes loose connection or studer very badly. I know that  cox has used 1Ghz splitters and was wondering if that can be the problem? also the internet sometimes drops from the 100 mbps to about 25-40 mbps or even less even disconnecting completely could that have been caused by a bad splitter in the line going to the modem?

only way to check it to do a direct connect and see if it fixes the problem

i was thinking about just rewiring the coax in the house and was wondering the cost of the endeavor. one cable modem and 5 tv with a room that may get one in the future will be running though wall with boxes. also only one tv and the modem needs the signal from cox and then send it out on the moca network. how does gain affect moca? and should so that it is cleaner runs use only 2 way splitters and have the runs go to the area where it is easiest to split of just get a 8 way and then run all of the cables to their destinations. the house is about 2100sqf.

if you were gonna redo the wiring...it wouldn't cost very much..if you do it all yourself..and depending on the tools you currently have

I do wiring like this in clients places all the time

if it is just that the cable runs are overloaded...you can get cable boosters to...cheaper option..maybe not as future proof tho

if you were gonna do this..you'd probably want one of these drill bits

maybe 150 usd? we had a second story add on years back and they people who added the cabling reaaly cut corners to the point that (fond out 8 years later) the fuse box was piggybacked and other stuff so was going to redo it right with new cables for this moca network
