Mouse Christmas Gift

I need to get my dad a new mouse for Christmas. I'm looking for a cheap mouse with no hardware acceleration, no extra frills, and a generic appearance and shape. I think his grip type is palm, but I do not know. The mouse should be relatively large to support any grip type. After some research, the rival 100, and 300 mice from steelseries are good options, but I was wondering which of the two mice the original rival is more like. I know that the rival 100 is smaller (bad), and cheaper (good), so what size is the original rival?
