Have you tried it on other systems? and does the little graph in the sound manager show that sound is being played to the default device like this:

http://prntscr.com/9drtok

Cpu: Ryzen 2700 @ 4.0Ghz | Motherboard: Hero VI x370 | Gpu: EVGA RTX 2080 | Cooler: Custom Water loop | Ram: 16GB Trident Z 3000MHz

PSU: RM650x + Braided cables | Case:  painted Corsair c70 | Monitor: MSI 1440p 144hz VA | Drives: 500GB 850 Evo (OS)

Can you try them in another device to verify if it just a Windows settings issue?

Maybe try reinstalling your audio driver (likely realtek)

Weird... Only other thing I can say is check it on another system to see if the headphones are the problem.

Try returning them. its pretty easy to see if something broke because of mis-treatment, and if they look normal but dont work, then they will likely replace it. Is it still under warranty?

I don't know it was a gift from my POP-POP, and I don't think he has the receipt, but I'll check. Also I don't see realtek anywhere. I think the audio driver is from Roland MIDI Synthesizer?

The audio drivers are specific to your motherboard unless you plug the headphones in with usb, in which case you need to download drivers from the headphone manufacturer's website.
