GPU Clearance Sale

So I decided to purchase 1 unit for Sapphire R9 280x Dual-X at a PC part shop here in my country.

It costed me an equivalent of $120. For comparison Brand New Sapphire R9 380 costs $225.

 

The unit I bought only comes with the GPU. No box, drivers, accessories, etc.

The store offers 1week replacement warranty and 1month store warranty.

 

I asked if it's already used, they said no. It's just an old stock.

I asked if it still has distributor warranty, they said it doesnt have.

 

I hope you can answer few of my questions and share your opinion..

 

I wonder why this unit doesnt have box if it's an old stock? I dont know what's running behind the PC stores. Hehe.

And please guide me on what I can do to check the quality of this card.

I have 1 week to check the card quality if it can go through years.

 

And lastly, is this the driver I should use?

That driver in the link which is from Sapphire's Website says it's Catalyst. Or I should use Crimson?

If it was "old stock," it would have the warranty and still be in the packaging. That doesn't make sense.

That's what im wondering. Lol. But the one I got seemed it hasnt been used before. Tho the copper on the heatsink seemed a bit tarnished. Btw.. it has sticker at the back it says, "PCT QC OK!" and it got marked 2015 Dec.

It's possible that it was an open box - got opened/bought breifly and returned or opened and never sold, thus (to them) voiding warranty. Dunno.

Yea possible.. They seem to have a lot of stock like this. Hehe. Anyway it looks great by inspection. I'll try to google on how to test this stuff in performance. But I do hope someone here in forum can give suggestions too.

if you want to warranty it it should be honored by any store's rma services since all you really need is the purchase date and serial number. i'm guessing it was used in a demo pc of some sort
