I'm going to be building my first PC in a few weeks and wanted some feedback.

My goal for this build is to be a pc for gaming, coding, watching videos, schoolwork, etc...

I plan to have dual monitors, the Asus VG248QE for gaming, and I already have an LG Flatron E2241 which I'll be using as a second monitor.

My budget is a maximum of $3k with tax included, I'm in California. The total price shown here is artificially high at the moment due to OutletPC and their ridiculously priced Intel 6700k CPU.

My questions:

Is Windows 10 Pro pretty stable now, or is Win 10 still pretty buggy?

Is the Asus VG248QE a good choice? I saw online some people mentioning the colors on the monitor werent great for them.

My current PC is a Dell inspiron laptop (with a second monitor). I've only ever had laptops, so this is going to be a big upgrade for me :D

TIL Laptops can have multiple monitors.

is it just me or is that i7-6700k insanely overpriced? am I missing something?

my i7-5820k scores similarly in benchmarks when overclocked AND it has 6 cores, and was only $388.

dont buy that processor at that price. so if you ignore that super high price you have like an extra $300-400 to spend and still be below that $3000 mark.

Gaming - Ryzen 9800X3D | 64GB 6400mhz cl30 9070 XT

Homelab - many servers...constantly changing.

3970X/256GB - 5950X/128GB ECC - 5600G/96GB - 3400GE/16GB - 3400GE/16GB

If you replace that GT720with literally anything made in the last 3 years would un-potato your PC.

Big fan of the case. Dat handle.

When in doubt, re-format.
