I recently bought a new PC which I had to have shipped to me due to my location.  When it arrived I noticed the graphics card (GeForce 980) had become disconnected from the motherboard (asus z170 Pro Gaming) and the connection space on the motherboard for the GPU appeared to be bent, but the connection on the GPU appeared to be fine.  I reconnected it, without forcing it and turned the pc on and when I checked it, it said I was running an Intel HD Graphics 530.  The lights on the GPU were on and the fans on it were spinning as well.  I turned the PC off and took out and put back in the GPU, but nothing changed.

Since my motherboard has other slots for GPUs I tried attaching it to the second slot.  Turned it on and still the same, Intel HD Graphics 530, but lights and fans on the GPU were working.

Any ideas as to what I should do?

Thanks a million in advance

Make sure your display connection cable is plugged into the GPU, not the motherboard.

that's what my guess is, too. otherwise it would be very strange that it sends the signal of the iGPU over your dGPU to your monitor

could you post a picture of the back of your pc? these pictures look like everythings in place but to know whether you connected your monitor right i'd need a picture from the back

EDIT: I'd put the gpu in the top slot

Sorry but I dont really know anything about hardware

Here is what I can see in the device manager..

Also I just finished downloading Assassins creed black flag... Granted this game is now a bit dated but with what i supposedly have working i shouldnt be able to run it, however it is doing fine on ultra settings running at over 60fps...
