0x80070079 help

I'm trying to copy a file, ard 700MB into my external harddrive via front usb 3.0 ports but i keep getting the message 0x80070079 "semaphore timeout period has expired". I tried to google for a solution but couldn't find a clear one so I'm here to seek help. Some said to use teh 2.0 ports instead but I want to avoid that since wouldn't that defeat the purpose of buying a 3.0 hard disk and a 3.0 case/mobo in the first place? Please help thanks

thanks haha i actually found that too but i couldn't understand it :lol:  . so i basically have to unplug my usb devices one by one restarting the system each time?? like i don't really understand the steps

That is the one I meant to link you.  It talks about sending stuff over WiFi, but it is the same error and should have the same resolution.
