Going for 5Ghz

vagabond139

I am looking to get my A8 6600K to 5Ghz, its at 4.9ghz right now. Don't worry about the psu, or airflow, or motherboard, those are good and not something that need to be worried, its thermal margin is about 10C under full load at 1.49v although it never gets that hot during gaming which is the most cpu intense task I do currently, I am wondering what would improvement I would see on my HSF if I replaced the stock fans on it with a single Delta AFB1212GHE running at full RPM. My HSF is a Phantek TCDX12.

I got my A10 to 5 Ghz. But that was on linux so I couldn't tell if it was stable or not. and it was on the stock cooler. I don't even know what I did back then.

Thermal margin dictates how far away it is from hitting TJ Max.

APU = CPU + GPU.

No reason why you couldn't OC it.

It is based on the same 32nm process that Vishera is on so Richland cpu's can overclock very good.
