So all the case fan wires connect to the fan controller and just need like one wire which connects them all.

The splitter wire dosent look long enough.

Only way to power case fans are on the motherboard?

I have a b85 pro4 and apparently I can only fit case fans. Not so sure though...

What happens if I have a case that supports 5 case fans but my motherboard only allows 2-3 :(

Hard to think of a good title

Fan question would be a good title as well.  If your temps are fine, don't worry about it.  Otherwise, what

said, except you can have a smaller fan controller and use the mobo fan headers too.  It's just that the fan controller won't be able to control the mobo connected fans.

It doesn't take much to improve on a stock cooler - might want to consider just upgrading that first, and if that doesn't cut it then consider upgrading your case fans. ;)

I only have 1 crappy case fan though. Upgrading my case

What case do you have and why do you feel that you need more fans? If it is a CPU temp issue then as stated before you would see a huge improvement by ditching the stock cooler and getting an aftermarket one.

Edit - I see your specs on your profile, from the looks of it you can only install one fan your case anyway, unless you wanted to get creative, but even then there probably wouldn't be too much improvement in airflow.

Upgrading to corsair spec 03

(Random question) on fan controllers why the **** does it have the temperature for each one. Is the temoerature showing what? The fan?

Everything needs to be cooled like the gpu and for future improvement and everything needs to be cooled

So you currently have two fans then, the one that came with your old case and the one the came you your new Corsair case? You don't really need more than 2 in most situations.

I don't get what you mean, I don't really diddle around with fan controllers but I haven't seen any temperature readings from mine.

Your Pentium and 750 Ti won't really kick out much heat so you really won't have a problem. I'm serious not needing to worry about the G3258 cooling, for a few weeks I had mine passively cooled while OCed to 4Ghz and it sat around about 65 degrees under load, although it was with a NH-D14 but still, it doesn't take much to cool low end chips.

Haha not really, I just saved up for a while for my main PC and then put a couple hundred into used parts for my folding PC, secondary PC is just some old parts thrown together for my room mate to use.

Just use splitters and connect the Fans to the PSU. There will be no rpm Controll, but who need that anyway?

What plug does the fan controller have that uses it to connect in the motherboard.

A fan controller just plugs into a fan header as if it was a fan, you then power it from your PSU usually from a molex or SATA power. The manual that comes with it should explain it all to you, might even have some pictures to give you a visual representation. Also just saying in case you weren't sure, your CPU fan should always be plugged into the fan header marked CPU_Fan on your motherboard.

With the fan controller, everything you need should be included.

There are longer splitter wires available, better looking ones too, I just went with the most inexpensive one I could find. I didn't think you wanted to spend like $10 on a single cable.
