Hey guys and gals I have $1200 (CAD) and want to build a new rig. I need a PC cable of running gta 5, world of tanks, gmod, and just cause 3 at max to mid settings. In my build I also need a monitor which is 1080p and don't care if it's tn or IPS I also need a keyboard and mouse. I would like to have a nivida graphics card and Intel cpu but I would be willing to have a amd graphics card. The case I have in Mind is the NZXT S340.

Note: don't plan on overclocking ever.

What part of Canada do you live in?

Do you need Windows?

Here's what I'd get:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($249.01 @ Vuugo)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4 70.0 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler  ($17.99 @ NCIX)
Motherboard: ASRock B85M-DGS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($59.75 @ Vuugo)
Memory: Mushkin ECO2 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($48.98 @ Newegg Canada)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($59.01 @ Vuugo)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card  ($249.98 @ NCIX)
Case: NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($95.05 @ Vuugo)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($59.98 @ NCIX)
Keyboard: Cooler Master CM Storm QuickFire TK Wired Mini Keyboard  ($107.98 @ Amazon Canada)
Mouse: Corsair Vengeance M65 Wired Laser Mouse  ($49.88 @ Canada Computers)
Total: $997.61

  • The CPU cooler is there more for aesthetics than anything else, so don't spend too much.
  • Not the greatest PSU, but cheap. You can spend an extra $50 to get an EVGA if you deem it necessary.
  • I went with this motherboard because it matched the color scheme. Otherwise I'd go with a B85 Asus board for $70.
  • Keyboard and mouse are pretty personal choices, but this is what I'd do. If you don't need the numpad you can save $15.
  • I'd include an SSD, but your budget is tight. If you can extend it a little I'd say it's a must have.

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900 Cooler: EVGA CLC280 Motherboard: Gigabyte B550i Pro AX RAM: Kingston Hyper X 32GB 3200mhz

I'd just go with the build I pieced together and grab a monitor and SSD.

You can drop down to a 950 if your budget is super tight.

Though, living in Alberta you should have nothing but money :P
