What Tomtom said, one is discontinued. So the available one is probably just the successor and might be just a bit better.

Although the IPS237L is now discontinued, other than that I couldn't see any major differences between the two..

Well the newer one has VGA and the discontinued one has VGA and HDMI. The new is also vesa mountable and they may use different AG coatings.

Both the newer model and the discontinued model have both VGA and two HDMI ports. Don't really see the point you're making with that one, but agree with the later points.

sry under inputs they didn't list HDMI

thank you all
i guess ill go ahead and purchase the non-discontinued one
and by the way
why isn't DVI a default on every monitor on the planet??
who the hell uses vga anymore??
and nobody needs speakers on their pc monitor (which they suck almost always)
99 percent of people have dedicated speakers or headphones
just put that extra dollars to good use for a better stand or more options as pivot tilt swivel vesa
its not rocket science its common sense

Budget monitors are designed for legacy computers and old budget ones (using Intel integrated graphics or some VIA or S3 graphic solution). Usually they have VGA only. Or budget laptops too.

The reason why they have HDMI, is to support consumer grade laptops. Usually the monitor has a very old version of HDMI, to minimize royalty fees. HDCP might not be supported, depending on the price of the monitor. In your case, it's not that low end, so it support HDCP.
