Hi everyone,

Okay so this week I bought the Corsair AX860 PSU, but the 8-Pin connector doesn't fit the 8-Pin socket on my Gigabyte G1. Sniper M5, the left side (when split as a 4 + 4 pin) is the issue. The cable fits fine if you insert the PSU end first, but you can't connect the CPU end to the PSU, since there are two clips, the PSU only let's one insert to secure the cable.

Is this a moulding issue or do I need a different cable? The left side of the cable in the pic is the issue.

Any help appreciated, cheers. :)

Odd.... could be a stupid question but are you sure you're plugging the pins in the right way. Clip facing the direction where it can clip onto the socket on your board?

Looked on Google Images, the pin layout is one square plug, and that must then be opposite to a plug with two corners lopped off it. (that is what it's like on the motherboard.

Find a connector in the bundle of cables which has the connectors like this:

Compatible with Windows 95

Okay so they do fit in the socket BUT 4 of the pins don't match the shape of the board...will this cause damage?

I need king Linus' help. Nobody seems to know on here or OC3D, really need to know because I don't want to damage my rig when I power it up.
