It's a solid CPU. It has very strong single threaded performance, and has 8 threads total. It is locked though. The 6700k version would perform slightly better since it is clocked higher and gives you the option to overclock.

I think its not worth the extra money when you could just get a i7 4790k which is just a bit slower and save some dosh..

Well, the 6700k is made of unobtainium here in germany. The only alternative to not having one is trading it for its weight in pure gold.

There's no reason why it wouldn't work just fine. Even then, Z170s are still cheaper than 2011v3 boards, at least in the US.

again, you completely ignored the fact that getting a low end board with a high end CPU is a bad idea
