So I have an i7 4790k on an MSI SLI Krait edition with an Asus wireless card, a super clocked GTX 780, 16GB of RAM, 1 WD BLACK drive, 1 WD Blue drive, and one SSD. I want to get an m.2 drive but my concern is my PCI lanes. I don't know how it all works exactly and I don't want to get the m.2 and end up using all of the lanes. I have watched Linus video on PCI lanes on "As fast as possible" but I'm still a bit confused.

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

You'd be fine. Even with SLI 780s, you'd still be fine.

Would I be fine with oh a titan x as well? IF and only IF I got a titan black I'd still only have one card in my system

Yep, literally any single card would be fine. We're not even close to fully saturating PCIe3.0 8x, so no card will be bottlenecked by it.
