CPU upgrade options

I currently have a 3570k and use it mostly for gaming. I also do some video editing and rendering. I am not sure if i should upgrade to a 4770k or a 4930k. Money isn't that much of an issue yet I don't want to be wasting it.

upgrade to 3770k that way you can keep your current motherboard, the performance between the 3770k and 4770k is very small also the 4930k doesn't exist yet

| 3570k @ 4.4.ghz | Hyper 212 evo | 8GB (2x4GB) 1600mhz Corsair Vengeance | Gigabyte Z77X UD3H | Corsair CX750M | Corsair 300R | OCZ 240GB SSD | Seagate 1TB 7200rpm HDD | Asus DCUII 7950 @1150mhz core 1600mhz mem

| BenQ XL2411T | Corsair Vengeance K60 | Logitech G700 | steelseries Qck+ | Fiio E10 | Zalman clip on mic | HD 598 | ATH-M50 |

If you're looking at a 4770K, it makes more sense to just get a 3770K so you don't have to get a new motherboard..

If you want a six-core CPU, waiting for the 4930K is a great option.

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

^this Best option you do ahve to be honest.. 4770k is a waste of money, intems of performence gain to your current setup (payind $300+ for 3% gain is not good at all..)

If you already have a 3570K, upgrading to a 4770k isn't much of an upgrade. If you really don't feel like wasting money, I would suggest waiting until late 2014 for the X99/LGA 2011-3/Haswell-E platform.

If you can't wait until then, your best bet is getting an X79 motherboard with 8 DIMM slots, so you take advantage of that X79 exclusive feature, and either a 3910K, 3930K, or 4930K. These three processors perform within 10-15% of each other, so it's your choice to decide whether or not it's worth the extra money for that performance boost.
