So I was browsing CPUID to get CPUZ and HWmonitor when I i saw that they had an update for HWmonitor so i look at and I see this

"- Intel Core i3-4xxx, Core ix-4xxxHQ "Crystalwell", Pentium "Haswell" G3430, G3420, G3220, Core i7-3910K processors.

- Intel 8-series chipset."

What could this mean, the Core Ix 4xxxHQ "Crystalwell" and the Core I7 3910K, possible new cpu's from intel? I would like to hear your side to this as well.

OMG !!! ._. I WILL get one idec it'll be the ultimate sweet spot for price/performance considering it's going to be a 6 core ._.

I'm genuinely interested in this chip, still hasn't landed in any e-tailer.

I as well, it might be the chip that just destroys amd now, if it's at a good price, 6 cores, and over clocks on the x79 chipset, it's really a no brainier. I would like to see what all happens with this chip and how log it will be till it's out.

All just because it's sandbridge E (As far as I know) it can still be used later on with LGA2011, just as ivy bridge could be used on z67 mobos and sandbridge on z77 mobos.

No.

if it cost under $200 than yes.

But there's no way in hell it would be that low... im thinking $350 at the very least.

rumours are it's there to replace the 3820 so if it's at the same price :/ then GG

even at $350 if it's a full 6 core on such a good platform as x79 it could still kill amd's 8350 in raw performance and price

In raw performance yes...

The 4770k beats the 8350 in raw performance and costs 100+ more...

Why are people still buying 8350's?

100 is a major increase in price let alone 150+ and it would totally not push people away from an 8350.

This isn't AMD killer at all.

An amd killer would be something that performed significantly better than an 8350 and cost near the same price.

I thought that this was a 3820 replacement as well, but an ivy-e 4920 is coming out in September. I actually posted my view on this forever ago here.

But something that i heard is that this is a bad batch of the 3930's and you wont really be able to overclock them due to bad thermal compound.

It was actually a post from "That Norwegian guy" on the same page.

His explanation made a lot more sense to me. Intel trying to get rid of the bad 3930's.

EDIT:

There's a post that was created a while ago here about this.

Not saying this thread is a repost or whatever, but i think op should take a look at it.

I read your thread and kinda thought this was a repost too but :P even at stock the 3910 being maybe 3.2ghz would be the best price/performance chip purely down to it's 6 Intel cores and the 6x MP ratio; it's probably going to be like a 3930k that will need water to get to 5ghz instead of air but meh :/ I'd disable hyper-threading on it anyway to keep it cool.

Guys you need to consider it's still an 8 core chip with 2 soldered off cores. It's stupid to buy that imo.
