Windows 7 System Image Help

I want to create a system image of my Windows 7 boot drive (An old Intel 320 160GB SSD) into a 1TB external hard drive, but everytime I try to create a system image, it would also create an image of the 1TB hard drive. I can't continue since there's only 200GB left from my hard drive. Any suggestions?

Has a Ph.D in Nothing and does not speak Chinese, Italian or French. (aber ich kann Deutsch sprechen)

What software are you using to make the image?

Asus GL552JX i7-4720HQ, 16GB DDR3, 128GB M.2 SSD / 500GB SATA SSD, GTX 950M 2GB, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8.1 Pro, Server 2012 R2 DC
