In regards to what you read on the Internet, it is incorrect. NVIDIA requires x8. I suppose it does run at the lowest available, but that lowest is x8. Anything less and it's a no-go for SLI.

G'day folks!

Just a quick question about my current PC.

 

So I have an i5 750 OC'd to 4.35 GHz, 8GB of DDR3 1600 RAM, A Gigabyte GTX 660 standard (gv-n660wf2-2gd) and a 750W PSU.

What I wan't to do is buy another GTX 660 from my friend ($80AUS) and put them in SLI. I will be playing games at 1080p on High to Ultra settings. Games: WoT, War Thunder, Armored Warfare, JC2, GTA 5, Just Cause 2/3 and CSGO.

 

What do I need to know about SLI and will my PC work with it?

Your motherboard does not support SLI. NVIDIA requires PCIe slots to run at x8 at least regardless of generation.
