question about bans on gmod

so i host a gmod server that gets like 10-15 players a day. and today i had a massive anti cheat ban wave. i wa son and in about 15 min anti cheat banned like 16 kids. they were all new player i've never seen before. so if you get banned from anti cheat do you get a VAC ban? or can they just bypass it somehow and came back because a kid came back like 3 times after anti cheat banned him. i know gmod has vac but doesn't it ever vac ban on gmod? because its getting annoying that people can bypass server bans.
